Merry Christmas, everybody! Today was planned as a restful day of food and communications with distant family and friends but local ornithologist and top birding tour guide Ernesto Carman showed up with Vernon Campos and Larry Barnard to photograph the White-eyed Vireo that has made its temporary home in our garden. Since all my attempts at taking snapshots have failed, Ernesto’s photo below makes a lovely Christmas present:
